The WSET Level 3 Award in Spirts is an advanced qualification, perfect for the professional intended to master their skills in the world of spirits production. Learners will develop deep theoretical knowledge and sensory tasting skills with the ability to connect both together.

Then this course is intended to build on already existing knowledge gained from the WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits. You will acquire further knowledge and understanding of the key techniques of spirits production, from; processing the raw material, fermentation regulations, distillation regulations and techniques around the world and post distillation operations that make many spirit categories so interesting and unique.

    • Rye Whiskey

    • Tequila

    • Mezcal

    • Vodka

    • Gin

 

  • An overview of 23 other spirit categories, focusing on;

    • Principle production methods

    • Key styles

    • Key labelling terms

Unit 2​

  • How to taste and evaluate spirits using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Spirits® (SAT)​​​​​​

What you will receive;

  • All study materials

  • Expert tutoring from a WSET accredited educator

  • The use of the glassware and spittoons

  • At least 50 different spirits tasted

  • Examination and related fees are included

  • Certificate - for those who pass will receive a certificate worthy of being framed and a lapel​

How it is assessed;

Unit 1

  • Part 1 - A 50-question multiple choice examination, with a pass rate of 55% (28/50)

Unit 2

  • Part 2 - a tasting examination of two spirit samples tasted blind
